Wilcox Mofflin Apartment

Ultimo, Sydney

Client Brief

  • Double storey

  • Retain existing windows

  • Industrial style

  • Room to display client's collection of artwork

Concept

Since the existing bricks needed to be retained, the design plays with framing areas using LED lighting. To balance the industrial bricks, I decided to use concrete paint for the newly created drywall interior walls on level 2 in order to maintain the rustic feeling within the apartment. The concrete walls form a wonderfully neutral backdrop for the client's artworks  in both the lounge and stairwell areas.

The kitchen appliances are showcased under cleverly positioned LED lights, creating a modern touch which contrasts harmoniously with  the old school red bricks. Down lights create a cozy atmosphere throughout the whole living space.
