Concept
This vacation house possesses a gorgeous sea view, so I created high ceilings with floor to ceiling window elements. Various natural materials such as timber panel walls and large river stones add warmth, depth and texture to the house. Getting natural light into the central areas was the hardest part of the project, so an internal atrium was created to distribute natural light into this open plan area.
The master bedroom is connected to the luxurious spa by a huge round aperture in the rustic stone wall, and you can still enjoy the spectacular view as you refresh in the sunken spa. Sunlight streams from above in the generous shower space in the master ensuite, with a low cut window providing glimpses of the native bush outside. Guests can enjoy the starry sky from their skylight above the guest bed.
